Why? Because teachers matter. In fact, teacher quality is the #1 in-school factor that affects student learning—and qualified teachers make a lifelong impact.
And Minnesota needs more educators. According to economic projections, the state will need 18,000 new elementary school teachers and 14,000 middle and high school teachers over the next decade.

We support future teachers from all backgrounds, from high school students to college grads, career changers, and school staff members. No matter where you’re starting, we’ll help you learn about the career—and find a path that fits your life.

TeachMN launched in April 2025 as part of a statewide coalition of educators, spearheaded by the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board, in collaboration with TEACH.org.
When TEACH.org began in 2015, we started with clear goals: Reduce the national teacher shortage, elevate the image of the teaching profession and support anyone interested in becoming a teacher. TEACH has since grown into one of the nation’s largest and most effective teacher recruitment organizations.
TeachMN works closely with our Minnesota partners at Elevate Teaching, which supports teachers at all stages, from getting licensed to thriving in the classroom. Together, we’ll work to recruit the next generation of educators and uplift the entire profession.
