What You Will Learn During the Information Session
At this session, representatives from Minnesota State University, Mankato will share details about the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship and what makes this pathway unique for aspiring educators.
The Registered Teacher Apprenticeship model allows you to earn your teacher licensure and bachelor’s degree while working in a school district participating in MN Registered Teaching Apprenticeship program, gaining hands-on classroom experience while completing coursework. Instead of stepping away from the workforce, apprentices learn alongside experienced educators and apply what they are studying in real time, all while earning a paycheck!
This pathway is specifically designed for adults already working in schools, particularly paraprofessionals who have completed, or are close to completing, an associate degree and are ready to advance toward becoming licensed teachers in Special Education (ABS and ASD/EBD).
While the program is geared toward school district employees, you are also welcome to attend if you are not currently a paraprofessional or working in a district but are interested in learning more about preparing for a future cohort.
During the session, you will learn:
• How the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship works
• Who the program is designed for
• What the timeline looks like for the upcoming cohorts
• What steps you can take now if you are interested in applying
