Program Info

At the heart of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University Education Department is a strong commitment to you as a future teacher and to excellence in your preparation. The program is built on four key principles that come from national teaching standards, CSB and SJU learning goals, the unique needs of kindergarten- grade 12 students, and the Benedictine values. These principles work together to create a well-rounded approach that helps you become a compassionate, community-focused teacher ready to lead positive change in education.

You can expect a supportive and challenging curriculum combined with hands-on experiences. Before your 16-week student teaching semester, you will complete at least 100 hours of fieldwork in local schools. What sets the CSB and SJU education program apart are its strong partnerships with community schools and educators, high employment rates after graduation and outstanding feedback from the schools that hire its graduates.
