Description

This grant is available if you plan to teach in a Minnesota shortage area or rural school district after earning your teaching license. It offers a one-time award of up to $7,500 for undergraduate or graduate students in their final student teaching semester.

To be eligible, you must:

Be enrolled in an approved teaching program that requires a student teaching placement lasting at least 12 weeks
Be pursuing your initial teaching license
Maintain satisfactory academic progress
Not be in default on federal or state student loans
Demonstrate financial need
Meet one or more of the following requirements:
- Intend to teach in a designated rural school district in Minnesota.
- Intend to teach in an identified license shortage area.
